Culinary Class: History of the Tomato
Saturday, April 27, 2024, 10:00am

Alisa DiGiacomo

The Relationship Between Italy and the Beloved Pomodoro

The history of the tomato in Italy may not be what you think. It will surprise you to know how they came to be in Italy and ultimately to America!

During this culinary experience I will speak to the tomatoes “shady” past and how Italians fell in love with the tomato and everything that it accompanies. We will then venture into the kitchen and make fresh pizza dough, homemade Mozzarella and sauce made from San Marzano tomatoes (they also have an interesting story), to create the World Famous Napoletana Pizza Margherita!

Please join us to learn more about our Italian Heritage
and how it is very much tied to this wonderful fruit!
