Italian Language Classes in Denver
Are you planning a trip to Italy, or just dreaming about one? Do you enjoy Italian films or the opera? If so, you can learn to speak Italian, “la bella lingua.”
The Dante Alighieri Society offers high quality instruction in the Italian language for adults, in a fun and friendly environment. Small language classes are taught by experienced, professional bilingual teachers. Classes are offered in ten-week sessions during the winter, spring, summer and fall.
Cost: Members - $115 / Non-Members - $145
Students are eligible for the member rate if they join the Society at the same time that they register for class. The class registration form also serves as the membership form. New students should pay their annual (calendar year) membership fee and the class registration fee at the same time. Current members who register for a winter class should renew their annual membership at the same time.

Class Size: 12 Students. Students are enrolled in the order that they register and pay for the class. Your registration is not complete until payment is received by the Dante Alighieri Society.
Refund Policy: Refunds will be made prior to the second class, with an administrative fee of $10. No refunds will be made after the second class.
SPRING 2023 CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Classes meet for 90 minutes, once per week
Beginner 1
In this class students with little or no knowledge of Italian will learn to communicate in simple everyday situations. Students will study the basic building blocks of the Italian language, including the alphabet, rules of pronunciation, basic syntax, and grammatical structures. Topics include subject pronouns, definite and indefinite articles, regular verbs in the present tense, and noun-adjective agreement.

Beginner 1

Topics include irregular and modal verbs in the present tense, articulated prepositions, and possessive adjectives.

In this class, students will build upon their prior studies through listening, reading and writing activities. Topics include future verb tenses and learning about holidays and train travel in Italy.

Intermediate 3
In this class students will continue to expand their studies of increasingly complex grammatical structures and vocabulary through listening activities, role plays, readings, videos, and conversation. Topics include indirect object pronouns and imperative verb tenses.

Advanced 3
This class will be predominantly in Italian, and will introduce more advanced vocabulary, past tenses of verbs, and subjunctive tenses, with topics including Italian history. Students will continue to develop their reading, listening, writing and speaking abilities.
